Please use the link to the left to view the pictures. 1/1/07 Happy New Years Everyone! Puppies are doing wonderful! Yesterday we saw...puppy blue eyes! Lime Green Boy's eyes were peeking out at us yesterday...today there is a few others that are starting to open their eyes. 12/28/06 Week One pictures posted! Everyone is doing great! 12/23/06 Well the puppies had their first trip to the vet yesterday and were all given a clean bill of health by the Dr. They also had their tails docked and dew claws removed. Our vet is fantastic...very quick and efficient with the procedure and several nurses came to help cuddle the puppies afterwards! They all have a stitch in their tails and dew claw area which will be removed in about 10 days. Everyone is doing very well. Today we start the early neurological stimulation exercises with these little guys. 12/22/06 Newborn pictures posted...please use the link to the left to view pictures. Puppies and mom are doing wonderful. We are trying to shovel the driveway now so we can get them to the vet this afternoon to get a check up, tails docked and dew claws removed! 12/21/06 The puppies are here!!! Star had 8 beautiful babies today ...7 males and 1 female. Mom and babies are all doing wonderful! Here is the order along with birthweights and times:
I will post more tomorrow along with pictures! 12/21/06 AM No puppies yet! Her temperature has stayed down though and she is getting increasingly restless. I think there is a very good chance we will see the puppies today! The blizzard is still going...but it is suppose to end some time today according to the weather man. 12/20/06 Well it looks like Star might not make it to her due date. When we took Star's temperature this morning it was 98 degrees! Usually that means she should have them within 24-48 hours!! (and we are having a bit of a blizzard here in Black Forest Colorado right now)!! Occasionally the temperature will drop and pop back up for a day or so. We shall see. I will keep everyone informed. Right now Star is very calm sleeping...on the couch. 12/17/06 Just about a week left! We set up the whelping box this weekend, stocked up on any supplies we needed, and much to Star's chagrin we started monitoring her temperature. (she is not thrilled with that part). When the temperature drops to 99 degrees or less it usually means the puppies should arrive within 24-48 hours. Right now she is running about 100.1 which is normal. Below are two pictures we took today.  
12/9/06 Only 2 weeks left!!! Below is a picture we took today. She really has gotten quite large! We have had predictions from 8 to 13! She is doing very well for her size...she actually decided to go outside in the warmer weather and hunt some ground squirrels for a bit today. Luckily she did not catch any :) 
11/29/06 We took some pictures of Ms Star today...she has really ballooned up in the last few days and she still has a little over 3 1/2 weeks left! She does appear bigger at this point than the did with her first litter of 8...any predictions how many?  
11/20/06 Well we are closing in on the halfway point of Stars pregnancy and Star is definately getting bigger! She is doing great...and loving all the extra attention she has been getting! She made it just fine past the critical 3 week point (when the embryos implant). We have added extra liver to her diet for extra iron for her and her puppies. 11/15/06 Sorry I have not updated as much as I would like! I have been involved in a big project for my son's school. Star continues to do great. It looks like she is losing some of her tuck up...and her waist is getting thicker! Also she is normally an avid huntress, but has become a bit lazier lately...preferring shorter hunting jaunts and more lounging on the couch. 11/2/06 Well it is about a week and a half after the breedings and every thing is looking great. Ember is starting to become protective of Star which is a good sign. 10/18/06 This is the Place where we will keep you up to date on what is happening! Puppies are due December 25th! |
